What Windows freeware diagnostic tools do you recommend for CPU,
fanspeed, & GPU/CPU core temperatures? I was purposefully helpfully answering a question for a Mac user when I realized my archives for CPU, fanspeed & Temperature debugging are a mess. o *Getting current speed of each core?* https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.sys.mac.system/fy_YUt1U0Yg These are my current freeware archives for CPU & motherboard diagnostics: https://i.postimg.cc/VvxK25M1/diagnose01.jpg And these are my freeware archives for fan and temperature diagnostics: https://i.postimg.cc/XY3RvDGW/diagnose02.jpg This is a short list of those freeware tools (in no particular order): o Core Temp https://www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=892 o Sandra http://www.sisoftware.net o CPUID HW Monitor https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html o Open HW Monitor https://openhardwaremonitor.org/ o GPU-Z https://www.techpowerup.com/download/gpu-z/ o CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com o SpeedFan http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php o RealTemp http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp o Crystal https://downloads.tomsguide.com/CrystalDiskInfo,0313-25941.html o EaseUS https://www.easeus.com/download.htm o Geekbench http://geekbench.com o Tmeter http://www.tmeter.ru/en/ What other freeware diagnostic tools do you recommend for CPU, fan, & temp? -- The extremly high cost of freeware is in effort needed to find the best! |

Hi Arlen, I usually use Fan speed, which you listed. Sometimes I will use CPU-Z, which you also listed I also use my fingers. I shut down the computer (pull power cord too), ground myself and feel around for any frozen fans and anything excessively hot. On my Linux systems, I use XSensors, but you did not ask about Linux. -T |
