Copyrights, photos from other websites, "Fair Use"
It seems the Microsoft "Notify me of replies" is not working.
Ok, I understand. It is not enough for me to write a note on my website..... "The photos used on this website are used through "Fair Use" - ie: to use Copyrighted Material for educational and or non profit use." until the owners consent to my use of their material. I have sent an email to the webmaster where I snatched the photos and pictures but have had no reply from them. I sent the email about 3 weeks ago. I will remove all the snatched pictures and photos today and wait for responses. I was cheeky enough to say in my email, "I may have thought that Christian material and especially shared Christian material amongst Christians for non profit purposes may be legal" and ried to suggest with my bad english it owuld be a good thing for Christians to do anyway.....but I did suggest in the email that was only a personal thought. Thank you all. -- ....scribble scribble scribble... Well, I was going to say good on you for trying to do the right thing, but why on earth have you left it three weeks before thinking about taking the pictures down? What will you do if you haven't heard back in another three weeks? Three months? Perhaps look for other contact details on the website to try. I was cheeky enough to say in my email, "I may have thought that Christian material and especially shared Christian material amongst Christians for non profit purposes may be legal" a) It would be jolly nice, yes, but that's up to the holder of the copyright. As VanguardLH said, it's not about profit or not, it's about ownership. b) What is this "shared Christian material" status? c) You said they were "photos taken of the discovery of the Noah's Ark" - not specifically Christian, then... Oy vey, as has already been said :-). and ried to suggest with my bad english it owuld be a good thing for Christians to do anyway.....but I did suggest in the email that was only a personal thought. If I was the copyright holder I would say 'no'. Mike. |
