Default Troll-feeding Senile ASSHOLES Alert!

These troll-feeding senile assholes just don't get what's going on! LOL

Get a lesson:

Some examples of Birdbrain Macaw's (now "James Wilkinson" LOL) sociopathic
"mathematics":
"100 is 5 times more than 20.
"5 times less" is the opposite of "5 times more", so this makes 100 back to
20 again.
20 is 5 times less than 100, the same as dividing by 5.
An elephant is 5 times bigger than a tiger, a tiger is 5 times smaller than
an elephant."
MID:

"I'm comparing being able to tell the difference between 21 and 12 to being
able to tell the difference between 21 and 12. If you think that it's easy
to think a 12 year old is 21, it's only fair to use it as a reason when you
get caught ****ing a 12 year old, which you mistook to be 21."
MID:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"50 watts is ten times more than 5 watts. Likewise 5 watts is ten times
less than 50 watts."
MID:

"The answer is 9. The 0.5 chicken is dead, so basically it's 1 chicken
laying 1 egg per day. The half egg was one halfway out, the only egg for
that day."
MID:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"let's say you prefer 20C water. If you go in 10C water you'd say that was
cold (10C colder than you want). Now you go in 0C water, that's twice as
cold, because it's now 20C colder than you want."
MID:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Even if only 25% of people want it legalised, and let's say LibDems already
have 15% of the vote. If 75% of that 15% stop voting for them because they
don't want it legalised, they're down to 3.75%. But 25% of the 85% who
didn't previously vote for them, change their mind due to this policy, they
gain 21.25%, giving them a total of 25%, well up from 15%."
MID:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If I say 1, then "or so", the "or so" means another 1.
If I say 5, then "or so", the "or so" means up to another 5.
Is English not your first language?"
MID:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If you live for 4 years and die, you wasted 4 years. If you live for 20
years and die, you wasted 20 years, that's 5 times worse."

Sorry, missed the OP

DIY Perks explains the difference between a host & sub modes,
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dkl1UPoYSAow

Er.... that's a video about electric bikes.

Nope. It's about adding an external LED light to a smart phone
using the USB
port for power.

Dunno what you were watching.

That=E2=80=99s what I saw, too.

YouTube is getting sorta insane with ads these days =E2=80=94 maybe he
saw an ad and got confused?

I actually WATCHED the add for a new conversion kit to make one's
bike electrified!

I ALSO watched the bright light add-on for Android 'phones!

I had a different ad, but it made sense that what I described
*might* be happening and had led to the confusion. Thanks for
verifying. Seems almost certain now.

YouTube has changed how they work with ads over the last few days.
For example, the in-view ads now show for not just 10 minute videos
but also for 8-minute, but also seems they have pushed more ads at
the start. Now it is more likely i will just download videos I want
to watch. Of course that means the content creator does not get
their ad revenue, but as the ads become more and more obtrusive
that is what YouTube is promoting. I certainly have no issue with
anyone bypassing ads for MY videos.

If you turn off monetization for your videos, does that not disable
ads?

Yes, or at least I think so. At the very least you get fewer ads.

ARGH! I hate the word fewer. It has no different meaning than "less".

Do you hate the word less fewer than you do the word less?

Both those words are the same, redo from start.

Do you hate the word less fewer than you do the word less?

You have not altered your illogical statement. You're asking me if the
word less annoys me a different amount to the word less. The answer is
no, less is equal to less.

Do you hate the word fewer fewer than you do the word less?

No, more. I in fact never use the word fewer. I say few, but not fewer.
"I
had a few apples, then I ate one, now I have one less".

Contrary to your claim you just used the word "fewer".

There is an exception to the rule, when I'm telling someone else they
shouldn't be using it. Otherwise how could I tell someone else they
shouldn't be using it?

Creatively.

No need.

And why would you care if others used it?

Because it's a horrid word, like "app" and "dupe".

Does it cause you harm when others use such words? Do they have a historic
connection to extreme harm?

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot
use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow
superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

I think fewer is a proper subset of a countable set, and less is a
proper subset of an uncountable set. How many fewer or how much less is
up to the reader.

I see no reason to distinguish the two.* You had some stuff, now some's
gone.* The amount is lower than what it used to be.

Less and fewer are both words in their own right, they are not really
interchangeable .

I remember it as :-
Fewer cars (countable)but less traffic (non-countable).

You could not say fewer traffic (well you physically could but it
wouldn't make sense).

Mind you that is a fairly prescriptive definition.
Less is becoming more dominant, with even the supermarkets using less
instead of fewer(perhaps the most discussed use of less instead of fewer
is the phrase 'ten items or less' .

Default Turn off data and only leave power on USB port?

In article op.0pglc5dlwdg98l@glass, Commander Kinsey
wrote:

Back to the original question: Back when USB 2.0 was what was available,
some devices like external drives needed more power than a 2.0 port could
provide.

Maybe that was true of some external drives, but none that I've ever
used with USB2.

I saw them a long time ago. Perhaps newer drives use less?

nope. it's because usb ports now source higher current for bus-powered
drives as well as recharging smartphones, tablets and other
accessories.

Nowadays a 2.5"
drive seems to have one USB plug, and a 3.5" drive has it's own wall wart.
Not sure why they didn't start using double plugs for the 3.5" ones.

because that would never work, at least via usb, and 3.5" drives are
usually used in a permanent setting, where bus-power is not needed.

that said, there used to be a few firewire bus-powered 3.5" drives, but
there was very little demand.
