$180?!? Are you a freaking Rockfeller? Seriously, though, the laptops
I've been building (and using) cost me about $40 or $45. I built a Latitude
D630 for my wife's niece, I'm using a Latitude D630 and the very small
Latitude D430 and I've got another Latitude D630 out on loan to another one
of my wife's nieces. I put small 60 GB SSDs in these, run Linux Mint 19.3
and the D630s boot up in about 25 seconds – they'll play HD video and do
everything I need. The D430 only goes to 2 GBs, so I usually drop back to SD
video (when I something watch it). But the D430 is as about as small a
Chromebook, so it's popular with me even with the limited RAM.

Obviously these do not have the battery life of a Chromebook. So there
definitely is that advantage (huge one if you're on the road).

And your posting history indicates that you are forever having
problems with these discarded PC's you dig out of the dustbin.

But along comes Linux and fixes every problem that you seem to be
having with Windows running on these discarded, POS computers you
manage to scarf up.

Sorry to say your stories seem to be far fetched. And your current
siggie demonstrates that you are indeed some kind of a kook who also
happens to be a Linux fanatic. You can't possibly be serious?

You sound a lot like that other delusional kook who calls himself
snit.

Here is your siggie:

"On Covid-19: "It’s all bull**** […] It’s all exaggerated. It’s
an acute respiratory disease with minimal mortality […] Why has
the whole world been destroyed? That I don’t know."
— Dr Alexander Myasnikov, Russia’s head of coronavirus information"

It is funny that these once glorious windows based computers were the
cat's meow when they were new... and now they are a POS is your eyes.
Such hypocrisy.

Hey, if you think I am wrong about something ask me about it. There are
things I have talked about where I am simply not going to dig back years
to even try to show the evidence, but if that is the case I will be
honest about it. And if we end up still disagreeing that is fine.

But what "delusion" do you mean?

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
