Do you ever boot to safe mode?

If I ever did, it's been long ago enough that I don't remember doing it.

Why do you keep using something you can't control?

Why would I want to use another background program to slow down Windows
10 even more than it is? Actually, I am now using DesktopOK, which
seems to work well once you set up all the options.

I use it too, but it's not a background program and it doesn't slow
Windows down at all. You run it only when you need to, not all the time.

But, if you tell DesktopOK to save every so often, is is somehow running
in the background. If I tell is to only save on request, in my case,
with 2 people using the PC, I might miss something.

OK, but it's hard to imagine that even if was running all the time it
would use a significant amount of resources. Even that way, it wouldn't
slow Windows down a measurable amount.

Many people are concerned about how *many* background programs are
running. That's the wrong thing to worry about. You should be concerned
with *what* background programs are running; some slow Windows down
significantly, others not at all.

OK. I'm the only one one who uses my computer. My wife has her own.

But if you're worried about its running in the background even though I
think you shouldn't be, alternatively you could request it to save
first thing every morning. It takes next to no time at all to do that.

I find that you only need a clumsy operator to facilitate casting your
desktop icons to new places on the screen.

Try clicking on a desktop icon and then hold the "Ctrl" key down while
you roll the mouse wheel to enlarge the icons. You can create
interesting effects with where your desktop icons get moved to.

Fortunately, rolling the mouse wheel in the reverse direction will
restore the icons to their original size and position.

I have to train my finger to operate more slowly than my brain !!
