Default VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394

I need help support for this VT6306 PCI Card chipset

VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394. On my Computer Management the IEEE 1394
Bus Controller appears to be installed correctly, but when... for
example: I use Windows Movie Maker or Windows Media Encorder or
similar Capturing program, from such program(s) I am able to rewind,
fast foward and the DV Camcorder responds, but when I pressing Play,
displays nothing, and pressing Record give an error "Class not
Registered".( 0X80040154 )

How do I registered this component correctly?. I need a reliable VIA
OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 - VT6306 driver. The one Microsoft provides
with the installation disk is not properly working. please if you know
or find a fix or where I can fix this problem...please email me at -

In my case is not a cable issue, because my other computer have
motherboard integrated IEEE 1394, and DV cam works perfectly with all
three IEEE1394 cables that I have. And with PCI Card VIA OHCI
Compliant IEEE 1394 - chipset VT6306, problem still remains.

please Help

I have the same problem with a JVC GR-D33 DV Camcorder when I attach it to a new HP computer with Vista installed. It works fine when I use my XP SP2 computer. What camcorder are you using? Are you running

Vista also?

I think the problem may be with the driver for the camcorder. The one
Microsoft provides is a generic for DV camcorders. Do you have reason to
believe that the problem is with the 1394 driver/chipset?

I have recently updated XP to SP3 and it has caused my IEEE1394 devices
to stop working! I hate to sound like an alarmist, but after doing just
a few hours of research I have found many who are experiencing the same
issue and their numbers are growing. As more and more people update to
SP3 the problem will no doubt become more noticeable. Fortunately,
uninstalling SP3 was (for me) as simple as finding it in Add/Remove
Programs and uninstalling it. WARN ALL THE OTHERS!

Default VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394

Sir,

VIA OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 was installed in my PC, but while
formating my computer, the driver also lost, and the CD provided with
the card was also lost.

I want to capture from SONY DCR-TRV140 E Camcoder, and the driver for
the camcoder is properly installed.

Now, the problem is that, i want to install the Driver for "VIA OHC
Compliant IEEE 139r Host Controller. When I tried to download, all
sites are directing and giving the Mirror site which goes directly to
MICROSOFT. They will install the driver once they found the WINDOWS XP
original, whereas I am using only WINDOWS XP copy.

What is the way to get this driver? Otherthan Microsoft where i can
download this? I have one more question, Windows are asking for the
updates of my existing WINDOWS XP. Can I download the Driver even if my
WINDOW XP software is not the original?

Please help me. How can i capture using the above IEEE 1394 Bus Card?

Thanks a lot.
Damu.

The only driver you need is already included in XP. From the Device
Manager, find the entry, right click and then Uninstall. On reboot, XP
should re-find and reinstall the correct drivers.

If XP does not re-find the device, it's probably not working correctly. If
this is the case, purchase a new PCI Firewire card.
