Default On Line NYT Subscription

Both my wife and myself share a PC. We both read the On Line NY Times
- which limits (10) articles per month for non paid subscribers

Is there a "way" where we Both can read 10 articles per month, on the
same PC?

NYT subscriptions are now on sale for 50% off for the first year:

https://www.nytimes.com/subscription...mpaignId=6JUHR

For only $1.88 per week you both can read any number of articles per month, including from their archives (over 150 years).

It's a bargain, it's a great paper, and they really need your support.

I have no connection to the NYT other than being a subscriber for over fifty years.

Do you connect there by logging in (so you and your wife could use
separate NYT accounts)?

Else, they track you by your IP address and that's the same one for all
your computer running through the same router (which could be integrated
into your cable modem).

If I'm not mistaken, the system works with
cookies. I find that I can read NYT articles if I
allow session cookies, but if I block cookies
I get the login page. However, I've never tried
reading more than 1 occasional article. (I live
with a New Yorker, so I'm stuck getting the NYT
delivered, and I'm less than impressed by their
product.)

If you use Firefox you can try setting cookies
to delete when FF closes. If you use another
browser you can try just clearing cookies
periodically. That should make you appear to be
a different visitor each time you delete the NYT
cookie.
Caveat: If you have your browser "remember"
logins at other sites that function will be lost
when you clear cookies, unless you specifically
clear only the NYT cookies.

VanguardLH seems to think you get tracked by
IP address. That's possible, but I doubt it. A cookie
is a more typical and simpler way to do it, and IP
addresses can be shared. (For instance, a cookie
will allow a member to log in automatically from
hotel wifi using their laptop. An IP address check
would cause people at the hotel to be bumped off
once 10 articles were read by any combination of
hotel visitors.)
