Virtual memory is low
I wish people would try to explain themselves in plain old English instead
of delving into terminology they don't understand. The paging file *is* virtual memory. The size of the paging file changes continuously - that's what it's supposed to do. "Partitioning" a hard disk means dividing a physical hard disk into two or more logical hard disks. For example, you could partition your hard disk into two logical disks called C and D. The operating system treats them as if they were two separate hard disks. Windows runs perfectly on a partitioned hard disk: My primary hard disk has 5 partitions. -- Ted Zieglar "Ginger" wrote in message ... I have the same problem...and it is so frustrating. When they talk about partitioning the hard drive, does that mean getting another harddrive? I read somewhere that Windows Xp has difficulty running the operating system along with everything else.(#@$%&) I have tried changing the size of my paging file, but doesn't seem to matter what I do. My computer is also running very slow! I will keep checking to see if someone will help us! -----Original Message----- what would cause the virtual memory to keep changing the paging size? I have rebooted the computer and looked in the task manager and the only thing running as far as applications was Internet Explorer. sometimes the computer will even lock up. I thought at first I was running to many applications at once and did not have enough ram but after installing 768mb of ram and this problem has not gone away I don't think that is the case anymore. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks . |

Virtual memory is low
It is best to let Windows manage page file size.. if Windows still has
problems doing so, this would indicate that there just isn't enough physical space left on the drive.. you should either remove unnecessary files from the drive or buy a larger drive..
