I have never been here before as we (my wife and I) stopped at XP. I
never even saw 7 or 8 let alone use them. So I had no reason to come
here until my wife got a new laptop with 8.1.
Yes one is a weird problem that is why I am here. And at Microsoft.com.
The other wasn't weird just needed help on how to get past it by how to
make my Admin account one with elevated privileges. Two problems, one
minor and the other weird and maybe major but not really, is so many?
Everything that I stated could be done on the second weird problem that
everyone here said that either I couldn't or shouldn't do. I proved by
two links to Microsoft.com that you were all wrong and you still will
not believe it.
Who knows more about Windows all of you here or Microsoft? Why wont you
believe Microsoft?
Is this really a place to get help?

And this proves me wrong about disabling IE, how?
Microsoft said they were going to force IE11 on 7.As they want every
user to use IE11, because of better performance and security. They just
didn't say when. 8.1 is just an updated and improved 8. As I am to
believe 8 to have been bad,from what others have said as I have never
even seen 8. Or 7 for that matter.

XP is no longer relevant.

IE is an integral component of Windows, it can't be turned off or
disabled only features that use it. Good luck finding all of them.

done if you do disable IE. And says nothing about features of IE. Any

work with the product key affixed to the computer and won't come with
the bloat that OEMs put on their machines.

Why do you think I am here? Where have I been a know it all? I just
pointed out where Microsoft stated that I could do what I did and how to
do it. When some people here still refuse to it and basically say that
Microsoft is a lier by lying by saying things about what was in
articles, by Microsoft, that weren't there.

Where have I refused Help? Show me. I showed up winston to be a lier
where he was one and that he was disseminating false information. Which
was to all readers of this thread. Who was correct? Microsoft or
winston. How does that make me a troll? Point it out to me. You can also
notice that I was civil to those who tried to help not just find fault
and try to mislead and were being uncivil themselves.

That is a restore and not a reinstall. Yes I know how to make and use a
restore point. If you use your latest restore point you restore those
changes. If you use a restore point before you get rid of bloatware then
you have to deal with that again. You can not download the Windows 8.1
iso with an OEM key you Have to have a retail key. I tried it that's why
I know that. You get a message that you have to have a retail key nand
can go no further. To be honest with you my wife has a new Dell and the
only bloat I found was a couple of Dell utilities which duplicates MS
utilities on a couple and a trial version of McAfee which I got rid of.

I'm not talking about that kind of restore. Again, sigh, go to the
website of the computer manufacturer to find out how to reinstall
Windows. On my Spanish computer, it says Recuperation Drive. That drive
has the original Windows the machine came with. How to access it can
only be known by going to the computer manufacturer's web site.
