Don't know what I'd do without you!

I associate sidebyside with "assemblies" and ".NET".

A spiceworks thread dumps this info.

"This event is related to the .NET Framework or Side-by-Side Assemblies
version mismatch and related failures.

Side-by-side is a concept introduced with the Microsoft .NET Framework.
It allows the ability to run multiple versions of an application
(or component) on the same computer. With side-by-side execution,
subsequent installations of other versions of the runtime,
an application, or a component will not affect applications already
installed.

Prior to Microsoft Windows XP and the .NET Framework, DLL conflicts
occurred because applications were unable to distinguish between
incompatible versions of the same code. An application had no way of
knowing if a DLL was the same that the application was compatible with.
As a result, a new version of a component could overwrite an older
version and break applications.

Isolated Applications and Side-by-side Assemblies: [short and pointless...]

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=VS.85).aspx

Diagnosing SideBySide failures: {OK article]

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/junfeng/arch...14/576314.aspx
"

The presence of such a Registry key, hints at the "kind" of software it is.

Paul

HTH,
Paul

One day I will find something else than Snag It. I use it maybe 6
times a year. No longer worth the price.
