Wrong display adapter
My motherboard had some problem and after I got it
replaced for the exact same one, Windows XP doesn't seem to be able to use my Geforce4 420 as the correct display adapter. Instead, it uses a Non-plug and play VGA driver, causing the screen to flicker whenever I drag n drop something. I've tried updating the driver for my display card but nothing work. Can somebody help me? Specs: P4 2.0 Ghz 256MB RAM 30GB HDD Windows XP Professional. Thanks in advance, Roy |

If your board has onboard video, disable.

Wrong display adapter
This problem is not with the display adapter. The system may not have a
on-board video but Windows XP may be corrupted. I was forced to do an XP repair install, which fixed my FX 5200 access. Y. "Nick Burns" wrote in message ... If your board has onboard video, disable. Wrong display adapter
Roy;
You may have a hardware problem with the motherboard and/or video card. Power off, open case and reseat the video card 3 times ensuring fully seated when completed. Sometimes these cards seem fully seated when they are not. Disable any on board video. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] An easier way to read newsgroup messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...oups/setup.asp http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ "Roy" wrote in message ... You might also try rebooting to safe mode to remove the previous drives,
then reboot to install new drivers. Chuck "Jupiter Jones [MVP]" wrote in message ... Roy; You may have a hardware problem with the motherboard and/or video card.
