HP Photosmart 6520 Windows 10 complains about Windos 8.1 needed

HP Photosmart 6520 (a question for a lady friend of mine). A cute divorced neighbor asked me why her Windows 10 update screwed with her long-ago-installed HP Photosmart 6520 printer drivers. When using her original disc from HP, she told me it asked for Windows 8.1. What's the easiest solution? I'll google the HP web site and the Windows 10 printer driver pages (if I can find a list of supported printer drivers on the net), but I wonder if you have generic advice off hand. Don't do research ... I'll do that. But just what initial direction would you go first? HP or Windows 10 updates? The PC that she's using, is it also an HP computer? If so then it should have a program called HP Support Assistant on it. This program will allow her to add the printer to it and it will then check with HP's servers for the latest device drivers for both the PC and the printer and notifies you if any updates are available. -- Roy Smith Windows 10 64 bit Friday, March 29, 2019, 6:43 AM Thunderbird 60.6.1 |

Why are you responding to an almost year-old post? |
