Getting Windows XP to remember folder settings.
Hi,
This has been asked jolly many times before! From some days ago, folders cannot seem to remember the settings I had set originally - view all items as icons. Now I find that some folders display files and sub-folders as thumbnails and some as tiles. I did the registry hack (Bags MRU) to take care of the 'last 400 settings' issue - in fact the settings are at 8000. Almost all folders within all five hard drives on this machine never seem to remember their view settings! Also some windows are maximized and minimized other times when opened! ToolsFolder OptionsViewApply to All Folders is set correctly. So is the setting in the window to 'remember each folders' view settings". Nothing works. Does not affect performance of this machine in the slightest - but remains an annoyance, especially more so as I cannot locate a cause or remedy! Thanks in advance. Satyanyaya |

Getting Windows XP to remember folder settings.
Hi,
To add: The folders also do not seem to remember their Customization settings. Sometimes the Documents and SettingsAdministrator folder would show as being a video folder. Or, the Windows folder would show as a Music file folder! Harmless but really annoying! Regards. Satyanyaya "S_Nyaya" wrote in message ... Hi, This has been asked jolly many times before!
