Default task bar problem

I go to the task bar notification area and then "customize notification" and
then "behavior" and set certain program icons to "always hide" but when I
restart my computer these settings have all gone back to "hide when inactive"
status. Is there any way to over ride this annoying problem?

You seem to have some Permissions problem with the registry entry for that.

Default task bar problem

I followed the instructions at your referred web-site but it did not solve
the problem. I also now have 2 additional start up problems:
1. my desktop display appearance reverts back to "vista" instead of the
"windows classic" that I had specified.
2. my folder view options revert back to the default setting of "folder"
instead of the "list" that I set.
These occur every time that I restart my computer.
Any suggestions? Do you think that "xp repair install" might help?
