AVG AntiVirus Free question.
Win7Pro on a HP6730b laptop with AVG AntiVirus Free installed.
Each time I boot my computer and go online and, amongst other things, update my AVG, I usually do a complete computer scan. Normally/every time, AVG would report the same three problems, which I would worry about, but, yesterday, I updated my AVG AntiVirus Free (which installed a new version, apparently) and then, today, when I booted up, I ran a complete scan and it reported .... Broken registery items 252 items PC Health problems 1 problem Junk programs 2 programs Programs slowing down your PC 11 programs And gives a "Resolve" button Clicking on each of those items gives greater details, e.g. the one "PC health problem" tells me my registery may be visible to others and the two "Junk programs" are with *Yahoo!Direct* and *FileViewPro* . Now, I'm guessing, because I'm using the Free version, it's an all or nothing situation, but should I be worried?? It's been a long time since I've been into the registery. Can I get in there and "pick and choose" which of the 252 items I want to fix? -- Daniel |

So they start scaring you with problems you can only solve with a paid version of AVG (at least that is what they say). This is a kind of very nasty commercial. Ignore these commercials. better yet, get rid of avast and get a real AV program. Rene |

Got in the habit before windows 8/10 allowed you to do just that on their graphic start menu. Anyway, since I moved the menu item I would get tons of issues with install links in the registry 'broken' per ccleaner. Not 252 of them but maybe 30 or 40. |
