Default Burner problem, shows up as SCSI instead of IDE

My CD & DVD Burner both suddenly show up in the device manager as SCSI
devices not IDE. None of my burner programs will burn now. Just burned
a DVD & CD the other day. Had this problem before but not able to
remember what I did to fix it. Have uninstalled devices, no fix. Nero
gives error msg about SCSI device and so do other burning programs. Any
help would be great.

Running XP Pro

Thanks

Where is the CD/DVD burner installed? Is it connected to the IDE/ATAPI
connection inside the PC? Did you add an extra PCI IDE/ATAPI adapter card?

If the CD/DVD burner is showing under SCSI devices, then it may be connected
to a port other than the standard IDE/ATAPI ports of the motherboard.
If it is connected to the standard IDE/ATAPI ports, then you may have a
problem with the ASPI layers system. Check with Nero's InfoTool utility.
Then you could download the missing ASPI of Adaptec and Nero's web sites.

In article ,
says...

It was the NVIDIA drivers. Updated my MB driver files from BioStar the
other day and the IDE drivers were screwed up, they told me to download
the new NForce drivers from NVIDIA which included the new IDE drivers.
Claims it replaces the default IDE drivers in XP to increase accessing
speed of all IDE drives.

thanks
