New Windows 10 Pro refurbished Dell laptop and new to Windows 10.

Several questions.

1) how do I get around having to input a phone number and email address
when I set up a user.

2) do I need multiple user accounts for myself if I want the have
different desktop setups ? How to do otherwise, add on applications?

3) does using a regular user (vs admin) buy me anything security wise
from outside actions ? I am the only person using this laptop.

Thank you in advance.

There are "camouflaged" clicks to create local users. If you don't see
it, try disconnecting internet.

IMO, yes. I have a user with privileges, and another without, which is
the one I typically use. The effect of malware /should/ be more limited.

Some actions may ask the privileged user password, which is fine with
me. Or use run as. However, some programs may fail strangely when
used/installed as plain user, bad design.

Yes

You need to login as a user with Administrator privileges.

Yes. Security aspect and habits should not change in Windows 10 as it
was in prior versions. It is pure common sense which is not, I admit,
common with everybody.

I am the only person using this laptop.

Makes no difference because there are hackers also able to use your
computer especially if you start installing 3rd party tools to make your
secure Windows 10 to look like Windows XP or Windows 7. DON'T DO IT;
or if you do it and you get problems don't ask here how to resolve these
problems.
