Default Scanner Sharing?

My network consists of 2 XP based computers. The HOST computer has a printer
attached, the CLIENT computer has a scanner attached.

I had no problem setting up the CLIENT computer to share the HOST printer.
How do I set up the HOST computer to share the CLIENT scanner? Can it be done
this way, or do I have to disconnect the scanner from the CLIENT and connect
it to the HOST to get them to share?

Default Scanner Sharing?

Hi
Regular Scanners are not Network Shared devices.
Unless you have a Scanner that was bought as a Network Scanner you can not
shared.
Brothers Brand makes few inexpensive model of "All in One" units which
includes Networked Printer/Fax/Scanner.

Very few scanners - particularly SOHO models, are shareable. You have to work
locally to load and run the scanner, so you are best off using it locally too.

You can always scan locally, then copy the scanned file to another computer, but
that's about all you can do with a SOHO scanner.

Thank you all for your input. I'm not going to spend $$$ just to share my
scanner on my home network. It's not that big of a deal, as it's not one of
them things I'd use everyday.

I'll just scan what I want on the Client computer, then transfer the file to
the Host.
