Thanks 1) This group is for issues with printing and/or faxing. 2) Wake on LAN has nothing whatsoever to do with the operating system - it's a function of the system BIOS. If you don't know how to access the BIOS, RTFM. -- Facon - the artificial bacon bits you get in Pizza Hut for sprinkling on salads. |

wake on LAN
Keevo,
The easiest way is to follow the instructions under the help topics that came with windows xp. You have to be logged on as an aministrator to complete the process. Just type in "wake on LAN" and you will have the instructions. You will have to access the setup feature on your LAN card thru the device manager. Look for the power management tab once you right click for properties on the network card. Sorry that Miss Tick..does not understand that this does affect the printing feature on a local network by other computers on the network, if the computer that the printer is connected to is in standby and/or suspend. Regards, Stash "keevo5544" wrote: This is on a computer running windows xp "keevo5544" wrote: how do i enable wake on LAN so i can wake a computer from suspend when another computer from my network tries to access the computer.
