Unable to browse or explore a CD in Windows Xp Home
I've recently installed Winxp home sp1 and updated to sp2 from Microsoft and
the problem is as follows : when i'm doing right click on cd-rom or cd-rw icon on My Computer the My Computer freezes and is needed to delete from Task Manager . As a solution ( guided from the site www.windowsreinstall.com ) i did the the steps My Computer-Manage-Computer Managment screen-Device Manager -DVD/CDROM Drives-Unistall (each of them)-Action (menu)-Scan fer Hardware Changes -- the drives will be installed automatically and should function correctly but unfortunately they didn't . Instead of that i received a blue screen warning me about a severe damage (but hopefully not after restart). Any help appreciated -- thanks in advance , Babis |
