Default Windows messenger auto log on

I want to stop windows messenger from logging on automatically when I open
outlook express
I have unchecked the "automatic log on to windows messenger" in tools
options in each of my 3 identities but messenger still logs in when I open
OE

Any ideas?
Actually I would prefer to not have messenger load at all when OE opens but
to be able to start messenger with an icon shortcut or from start menu when
i want to use it. How can I do this?

Greetings Norm,

To stop this, download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...ssenger_oe.reg
You'll need to restart Outlook Express to see the change.
