Default Virus?

A program called Personal Security loaded onto my laptop last night. It's
blocking about 95% of websites, claiming they are unsafe. It keeps going into
"buy a license" for $70; once it does that, I can't get to anything else. It
also does this when I try to delete it via the Control Panel add/remove
programs. I was able to get it out of my startup init but it's still
running. Anyone know how I can get rid of it? P.S. I'm on my husband's
laptop now...:-(

You are not the first person in the world to have this malicious
software and some people before you have had it before you have
already figured out a step bu step process to terminate it with
extreme prejudice. Malicious software knows the methods you are
likely to try to remove it, so prevents those things from working
properly.

When you reach the point of frustration after failing, you may just
give up and reinstall XP. You may try to repair your XP or use a
Restore Point. When those things happen, the virus is laughing at
you. If you do any of those things, you have lost the battle.

You can relieve yourself of it using the tried and true methods proven
to work, or you could try to reinvent the wheel yourself, or just try
some things that might work maybe. Removing it is not trial and error
or things to try. Removing it is a process.

The removal process is in the following link:
