99% OF ADD/REMOVE LIST is gone? How to restore?
winxp home service pack [2]
My add/remove list in control panel is nearly empty. I should have about 99% more things listed in add/remove list. It disappeared and I don't know why, is their a way to restore the list of installed programs so that they re-appear in the add/remove list? please help, please? |

99% OF ADD/REMOVE LIST is gone? How to restore?
White Space caused by Autocad --a long shot but worth checking
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_a.htm#ws Here's an article written for W98 that may or may not apply--again, worth checking. All Installed Programs May Not Be Displayed in the Add/Remove Programs http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240348 Even if you cannot restore it, this is not a big problem. Each program has its own uninstaller and you can simply locate the program's folder and uninstall from there. Add/Remove Programs is like an index so it is easier to remove programs. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour "Coffee Lover" wrote in message ... winxp home service pack [2] My add/remove list in control panel is nearly empty. True but I'm concerned about some of those programs with poorly or nonexistent uninstallers built-in. Also, some of those driver-type program entries that may be causing a problem can't be uninstalled since most of those don't have built-in uninstallers. Basically, 25% of the things that WERE listed are gone, and those are the poorly written installers or driver set types. This is truly baffling as to why this happened. |
