Default Windows XP Pro computer forced to login as guest on a share

I have two computer running windows xp pro one with a share. Other computers can access the share fine, but for some reason this computer just gets an access denied message everytime I try to access the share. Forced Guest login is set to 0 in the regist
ry on the share computer so I know it's not that. The connecting computer has no password as the login so I set the option "Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only" set to disabled. I even tried setting a password for t
he connnecting machine and still I get the access denied message. It looks like it's caching its logon info or some option is forcing it to always login as guest (the machine can in fact access the share when I enable Gust NTFS permissions on the share).
Whenever I look at the session info on the share machine I see the computer connected as guest with 0 files open, meaning I am able to open the computer, but not the share folder. All I want is the login screen to pop up so I may enter a valid username a
nd password. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks.

How about connecting to the share through the Windows Explorer
Tools, connect to share command (may have slightly different
wording, but I'm working on a non-English machine currently).

The dialog box has an option to use a different personality to
connect to the share.

Another choice would be the NET USE command in a command line
window.

The question remains, why it doesn't work in a more
straightforward fashion. Please have a look at
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm for some other potential
trouble spots.
