pop-ups
You should go to the following site:
www.lavasoft.com and download a free copy of AdAware. Adaware should then be installed, allowed to update the recognition file (there is a link to do that on the main screen), and then scan your computer. You can put anything it finds in "quarantine" to see if it messes up any software you have running, and, then if it doesn't cause problems - delete the files in quarantine. Another program to use if 'SpyBot' - you can find a site with this free program by using a Google search. -----Original Message----- I'm not very experienced with computers and this is a new computer. Suddenly last night my default log-in page on IE changed to something I didn't recognize. Then I started getting 'spyware' ads that couldn't be closed unless I shut down the computer. I went to the 'add/remove programs' and uninstalled about 6 'programs' I didn't recognize which helped a little bit. But, this morning, every time I change sites, new pop-ups show up. Is there something somewhere in my computer files that I can remove to stop this? Thank you so much. . |
