A Problem With My Windows XP Professional
A couple of days ago, I put my desktop computer on standby.
After I brought it out of standby, I noticed that when I attempt to insert graphics or text on my Print Shop Deluxe 20 the inserted graphics and text won't display. Several times, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Print Shop but this didn't help. I went to the on line troubleshooting section for Print Shop Deluxe 20 and it suggested that I lower the hardware acceleration setting to the BASIC level (the second lowest level). I did this. However, this only works when I change the accelerator setting, log off my administrator account or restart the start the computer and log back on. I also noticed that when I log back and change the hardware acceleration back to the FULL level, everything works again. Yet when I when I log off or restart my computer, the Print Shop Deluxe 20 once again won't work properly and I again have to through the above mentioned procedure to get the Print Shop working again. In addition, I did a full system scan with the Norton Antivirus 2004 and no threats were found. Furthermore, I ran my Spybot which found no Spyware and ran my Ad-A-Ware which found and removed two malware programs. However, even after the Ad-A-Ware removed the malware programs the Print Shop Deluxe 20 still didn't work properly. Finally, the Print Shop Deluxe 20 is the only program on my which isn't working properly. From what I can see, all my other programs are working ok. Can anyone tell how I fix whatever problem that the standby caused on my computer? I would greatly appreciate any advice. |

Did you at any time actually shut the PC OFF? You be surprised how often
this will fix all kinds of problems. -- Pavel "Bill1969" wrote in message ... A couple of days ago, I put my desktop computer on standby. See if you can restore your XP to a date before Print Shop Deluxe was
installed. This is about the only advantage of WindowsXP. My prejudice. (I love Windows 98SE, I can do almost anything on it and it has not failed me. Once 98 SE failed me and it turned out to be caused by a hardware problem!) "Bill1969" wrote in message ... A couple of days ago, I put my desktop computer on standby. I restored my computer back to last Tuesday when I know my computer was
working properly. I still had the same problem. "blackgold" wrote in message ... See if you can restore your XP to a date before Print Shop Deluxe was installed. A Problem With My Windows XP Professional
I figured out the problem with my Print Shop Deluxe program.
A friend of mine came over to my house, looked at what was going on, and determined that the Standby screwed up my video card driver. He uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and now the Print Shop Deluxe 20 is working the way its supposed to. "blackgold" wrote in message ...
