Default Simple solution I am sure, but?

Ok, I took my computer in to have a new power supply
installed (that was a nightmare in itself, certain
computer manufacturer and their proprietary parts...but I
digress). I get the computer back and the repair shop I
had taken it to had done some minor changes (he said it
would help my computer perform better). I didnt pay much
attention as they were mostly cosmetic changes. So
here's my problem....I had a problem with my internet
connection (cable modem), and had to look up my
connection status. However when I right click on the
connection and click on status nothing happens. I dont
get the pop-up box anymore that allows me to see status
info and most importantly lease info, MAC numbers and the
like. It's been about three months since I took the
computer in and I tried calling the guy but he's not been
in (he owned his own shop) to ask. So, how and what
could he have possibly done to stop the status box from
displaying and how can I get it back? Thank you in
advance.

Control Panel / Folder Options / View tab / Uncheck "Launch folder windows
in a separate process"
