Okay, from your description in this and your last post, your first issue is
with jumper settings.

As I understand it you have 1 harddrive on the primary IDE channel and 1
cd-rom on the secondary IDE channel. Is that correct? I bet it also takes
about a minute to get through the initial POST screen whereas it should be
about 1-2 seconds.

Assuming the above:

Set the jumper on the harddrive to Single Master. It is likely set to Dual
Master right now.

Set the jumper on the cd-rom to Master or if available Single Master.

For more info on harddrive visit support at
http://www.maxtor.com/

For Cd-rom click on "manual" on the right side and scroll down to jumper
settings
http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storag...&model=XM6002B

r.

Please continue the original post next time instead of creating a new post
on the same problem so others can follow the thread.
