Before you can OPEN WITH, you have to what program opens the file. It's
called the file assocation. This might help.

For a file type to be automatically opened, there has to be an association
between the extension and a suitable program. If there is no association,
Windows does not know what to do with the file and presents the "open with"
dialog.

So to "bypass" the dialog box, complete the dialog (establish an
association between the file type and a program) and check the "Always use
this program..." box. From now on, whenever you double click a file of this
type the "open with" will not appear. Instead the program that you selected
will launch and open the file.

You may have a number of programs installed that can open a particular file
type. You can still use these other programs with that file type but will
launch the program and use File Open

- or -

right click on a file and choose Open With. This time when using the
dialog, do NOT check the "Always open with this program..." box. In the
future, when you right click and select "open with," a list of alternative
programs that have been used in the past will appear *and* the option to
choose yet another alternative will be included as well.
