There is no built-in Windows antivirus. Norton is providing your
antivirus. Since you didn't say what version of NAV you've got, I don't
know if you have one that includes a firewall or not. NAV 2004-2006
includes Internet Worm Protection which is a firewall. If you have an
earlier version, leave the Windows Firewall on. If you have a later
NAV, check to make sure the WF isn't just reporting that you're covered
by NAV.

Hi,

I would just have disabled the message from the Security Center:

Control Panel/Security Center, click on the "Change the Way
Security Center Notifies Me" link in the left pane.

If the "Change the Way Security Center Notifies Me" doesn't stick
when you reboot, or you want to disable the Security Center totally,
you can do the following:

Start/Run -- services.msc

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.
