I try to access firewall control, says "unidentified problem", so I can't
evensee my settings. Some web sites I have in my favorites I cannot get to,
just a blank page (photobucket, major geeks) also system restore wo't
work...have I been invaded?

What is the malware status of the computer? Here are removal steps to go
through systematically:

Obviously, you'll need to get tools/updates from a different,
known-clean machine with an Internet connection and a cd burner (or
have a usb thumbdrive with enough capacity to transfer the files).

If you don't have a full-featured antivirus installed, start your
cleaning by running Sysclean. The instructions for this are on the
website above.
