CD/DVD Driver

I have a Sony VAIO Laptop (model PCG-FRV37) My CD/DVD Drive is a Mat****aÂ®
UJ-810B DVD-RW . I began having issues with the driver when attempting to
burn CD's from itunes. Now the Driver won't recognize either CD's or DVD's
when inserted. I have updated the firmware on the SONY website. The issue
remains. Is there any more troubleshooting I can do before taking the
computer in for service?
