Firewall blocking Messenging in XP
I cannot receive instant messages from an internet site. I have allowed
popups from the site, so I believe it's the firewall that blocks them....a window will pop up that someone wishes to contact me, but there is no message in it. The site does not have a downloadable messenger program (ala AOL, Yahoo) so I don't know how to "allow" these messages. |

Please quote at least some of the previous post(s) for clarity. Also, please type in mixed case and lose the "chat-speak". This is a newsgroup, not a chatroom or a messageboard. This will explain how better to use newsgroups: Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use a newsreader. Setting up a newsreader is very easy. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use Outlook Express since you already have it.
