Limited User Account problem
Can someone help with this problem, pls? I have a network of 11 Dell PCs
running XP Pro. They are all connected to a wireles router. They can all connect to the internet and browse without problem, but only if I have logged in as Administrator and switched user. If not, and the first and only log in is by a limited user account, then the user can't type into the address bar of IE, loses the Start menu and can't view the log off screen long enough to click anything. As a school, I don't want to keep logged in and it means i need to assign admin rights to teachers so they can log in and switch user before lessons. This is a huge security risk as they keep letting students see their password. Many thanks for any help. Mark |

Limited User Account problem
A key question here is whether you're using the WinXP wireless app, or a
manufacturer's one. Reasonably sure the Windows one will work for limited users, some others may not. IIRC most Dells have either Intel or Broadcom cards. The Intel wireless app is installed by default if it's an Intel card. You can turn off its service and start the 'Wireless Zero' service - see if that works better. |

The wireless card is a Belkin one that I installed.
I've set the wireless to be controlled by Windows. Doesn't seem to solve the problem though "Anteaus" wrote: A key question here is whether you're using the WinXP wireless app, or a manufacturer's one.
