Exclamation Please Help Me – Sound Recorder does not work.

Please Help Me – Sound Recorder does not work.

First thing is to tell you what type of computer I have?

Type of My Computer: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Laptop)
Type of Softwa Microsoft ® Sound Recorder
Version: 5.1
Type of Problem: Microsoft ® Sound Recorder does not work.

The second thing is to tell you the problem.

I click on Sound Recorder and it open just fine. Then I press the Rec button that is red and it changes form red to gray, and the Stop button turns black. I can stop and play just fine. Now the problem the green line in the middle of the black space does not move, also no sound is being recorded. I have hocked up the Mic in the right hole and I have also tried to true up the volume up to the max to see if I can here some thing. Only some times it works but very quiet.

To test your hardwa Control Panel Sounds and Audio Devices Voice

For hardware problems:

If you have a sound card: Contact the manufacturer of the card for support.

If you have on-board sound: Contact the manufacturer of your computer
