I am running XP home with Realtek audio97 and Logitech Mic (Communicate
STX). This combination was working perfectly playing thru Soundcard
until I had to re-install Xp. For some reason I must of stuffed up
because I lost all my drivers. I have since reinstalled, and all is
working perfectly except......
I can no longer play as usual through Soundcard... Mic is not being
shut off.
When running Test your Hardware in Control Panel, no matter what
combinations I try, its always the same...when moving to speaker, both
mic and speaker graphs are active. Im tearing my hair out, please...can
anyone HELP!!!!!!

Is it the latest hardware driver that is being used from the sound device
manufacturer directly - or just what loaded with Windows or came with some
"as-old-as-the-computer" device drivers CD?

HI Shenan, thanks for replying. I have downloaded and installed
ac97_406Supposedly the latest 'package' from realtek site.
Last night I disconnected 'Cam' and tried to use my old mic. No luck
there either. I really dont think Im playing thru soundcard at all,
though Im setting up as usual. Is this possible????
Apparently though, sound is good at the other end, just its annoying as
I cant type at the same time..........
