The file is DriverUpdate.net Setup.exe

I have come across this file which claims to update the device drivers for
Win XP SP3
and has listed some device drivers to be replaced by the updated ones.
I have not taken any action to replace any device drivers.

Can any user familiar with this utility comment on this to be
a genuine one to use it or otherwise?

Advice/help appreciated.

Don't use third party Driver sites.

Get drivers from the manufacturer or the vendor only.

You didn't say, but unless you're experiencing problems, leave well
enough alone. My advise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The manufacture and Microsoft

And if they at DriverUpdate give you the wrong update

Because you be

See David Lipman's and Zo's replies. I strongly agree with both of
them.

What do you mean you "came across this file"? Are you saying you don't
know where it came from? You didn't intentionally download it? And
you're considering running it??!!?? Don't be so foolish!

Device drivers rarely, if ever, need to be updated. If there is some
specific issue that needs to be resolved, only then should you update a
driver, and the driver should ONLY come from the hardware manufacturer.
Paying money to a dodgy-looking web site for an annual subscription to
update drivers is wasted money at best, and an invitation to system
problems and malware at worst.
