Is It Time To Dump Windows XP?

I thought all software and hardware have stopped supporting XP. Have you seen any software recently that runs on XP or any new hardware that supports XP? I haven't. Yes. OK, I'm _beginning_ to see software - and, more so, hardware - that doesn't support XP, but I'd still say it's the exception rather than the rule. (Probably slightly filtered by the fact that I tend not to buy the latest whizzy hardware/software.) I started seeing software not supporting XP for years like games. -- "I got this aunt... Just consider it part of the price of being a game-player. -- Web based forums are like subscribing to 10 different newspapers and having to visit 10 different news stands to pickup each one. In fact, I have the opposite problem. 100% of my stuff runs under XP. I can't say the same for Windows 7/8 though. -- Bill Gateway M465e ('06 era) - Thunderbird v24.3.0 Centrino Core2 Duo T7400 2.16 GHz - 4GB - Windows 7 Home SP1 |

I think some of the latest versions of some of the higher end apps might require Win 7, or at least Vista. A couple of examples are Adobe Photoshop and the latest version of Sound Forge (ver 11). Fortunately, I have no use for these latest (albatross) versions. :-) And I'm not a gamer, so that part is of no consequence. :-) |
