Default Lost printer: pc says no ports avalible

I have lost my printer, Hp 610cl, which might have
happened during a power surge from a storm a few weeks
back. There was no printer shown installed at all and
when I try to reinstall the printer from the Control
Panel, I get Operation can not be completed message.
When I try installing printer from the software, I get to
the part that tells me there are no ports to install the
printer. Everything was working fine until a few weeks
ago. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? How to
get the ports to show up again.
I am running Windows XP on a Hewlett Packard. I've
searched for an answer but have found nothing. Thanks.
