Default everything is read only...

All my folders attributes are 'read only' . How did this
happen?...and how can I change it back. If I do one folder
at a time...it takes hours....and the next time I open
that folder again...it is back to read only.
Suggestions?...

Folders are only set to read-only if that is what
shows when you use the attrib command to
examine thime.
What looks like the attribute in folder properties
is only a switch for use in controlling the attribute
on contained files.
