2 Win XP Pro with no connection

Default 2 Win XP Pro with no connection

I have the same problem. 2 xp pro computers hooked to
Dlink Router. Both surf the DSL fine, but they won't see
one another...tried everything...any ideas anybody???

Make sure you have different names for the computers.

Run XP's Network Setup Wizard on both computers, and tell it that they
connect to the Internet through a residential gateway (router).

If that doesn't solve the problem, try these tips:

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details he

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
