Default Network Connection stops responding

I have 2 local area connections. The first one is through
a token rign adapter and works all the time, no problem.
This adpter is needed to connect my workstation to our
corporate file server.

My problem is on the second adapter (local area connection
2), which connects to a DSL high speed connetion. It
stops responding several times during the day and the
connection needs to be "repaired" frequently to start
responding again.

I even tried changing the adapter and the pci slot but the
problem was not resolved.

I had this same configuration (with both adapters) under
Windows NT until we got upgraded to XP Pro by our
corporate office last year and, until the upgrade, both
adapters worked 100% of the time, there was never a need
to repair any of the connections.

I also tried playing with some setting of the card that
related to possible causes of the problem, like power
save, hibernate and others, but it did not fix the problem.

Can anyone help?
