Default Cannot stay connected in wireless XP using 54G and WPA-PSK! Help!

HELP,

Upon searching through the net, I find that the problem with staying
connected wirelessly seems to stem from the security and
authentication. Here's what I have:

Windows XP Pro
Belkin 54G Wireless Router
Belkin 54G Wireless Adapter
Broadcom 54G Wireless Adapter
using WPA-PSK security instead of WEP
using TIK encryption

PROBLEM: Every few minutes or when a new wireless network is found,
Win XP shows a little bubble stating that "One or more wireless
networks have been found.." If I cancel the button, I lose
connection. If I acknowledge it, I have to reconnect and it takes a
second or two for WPA-PSK to authenticate again and resume my
connection.

The problem as some of the techs have stated here is the check in
"Enable IEEE 802.1x authenication for this network" needs to be
unchecked. Well, the option to do this is greyed out when using
WPA-PSK. Is the only option to use WEP when the WPA-PSK is supposed
to be stronger encryption?

How do I stay connected without while using WPA-PSK? Is this jus a
bug in the method and no solution exists?
