Default Is it possible to export all network settings from XP registry?

My family computers seem to go wrong mostly in terms of network
settings, which usually causes quite a lot of work.
Is it possible to export all network setting from the registry for
safe keeping or are they too widely scattered to make this practical?
I know I could restore the whole registry but this can be too much of
a set-back sometimes.

Thanks, quite a revelation and that's before studying the subject.
