Default Help with Found New Hardware message

A "Found New Hardware" message suddenly popped up on my computer. An MTP
Device--Infrared I think. There is no new hardware attached. the message
wont go away and the computer keeps grinding away trying to install
something. I restarted my computer and the installation wizzard opened. I
tried everything I could think of to tell it to stop instaling but nothing
has worked. I went to the "add new hardware" area and was told that I am
already installing something and to come back when it has finished.

Anybody have an idea how to stop this? XP Home software!

Rather than canceling just let the wizard run.

Even if it cannot find drivers, just let it run and you will get an
option to not let the wizard run again
