Adding "Open with"
XP Pro, SP3, updated yesterday.
Is it possible to add the "Open With" or "Edit" options to pop up menus that don't have them? I have a bunch of reports differentiated by odd extensions and to check their contents I have to wade through the whole DA "Shall I go look up something on the internet" default routine. If "Open with" or "Edit" were available it would speed things up a lot. For that matter, is it possible to change the default from "Shall I go look up something on the internet" to "Look up locally?" Thanks -- JimL The purpose of complicated software is to provide excitement for geeks with not enough to do; busy people can go suck eggs. Winstun Churchhill |

Thanks There are apps and reg tweaks to do this, but I'd be tempted just to add the desired program to your "Send To" group (which is, by default, at C:\Documents and Settings\username\SendTo). Eg, I've added "Edit as text" as a shortcut to Notepad in my Send To and use it quite often. |
