Default IE 8 freezes on this site

Hi, whenever I try to browse the forum on this site, my browser just freezes.
My computer's up to date, but i don't get why it would freeze the minute i go
on this site. Even if someone has replied to my question, and i open that
link from my inbox, it would just show me a blank page. On my laptop, it's no
problem at all, just on my PC.

THanks.

Please supply details of the browser you are using.

You will get a far better experience of newsgroups if you use a proper
newsreader instead of that slow and quirky web interface you are
using.

Try clicking the Compatibility View icon on the right of URL bar (broken page
icon).

This is not a website; it's a newsgroup. It's meant to be accessed with
a newsreader, not a browser.

Of course It should not freeze on this site or any site - unless you
have some problem that could be IE8 related (or not).

What do you do when it freezes to resume browsing?

You do not need to install a newsreader to use this site. The
interface is different so it may indeed make your experience more
pleasureable, but your IE will still be broken. You do not need to
use a newsreader to use this site.

If IE8 freezes here, it will probably freeze someplace else and it is
unlikely having a newsreader installed will help you when that
happens. Why download some other program to "fix" something that
should already be working?

Did you install/upgrade to IE8? Do you know if this page worked okay
with IE7?

Depending on how you got to IE8 and other things that may be
installed, something may have not gone smoothly. There are a lot of
variables to rule out and isolate the problem, but it should not be
freezing.

Do you want to fix your IE8 so it works here or download a newsreader?

Well, when it starts freezing i just End Program and IE works good again on
any site. I downloaded and installed IE8 on the PC and it works fine and has
been. It's only this site that it causes the problem. I don't like having the
idea of using a newsreader where my laptop browser also has IE8 is letting me
reply to you guys. I'd like to be able to fix IE8 on my PC, because that's
the main computer. I've never tried using this site using IE7, so i wouldn't
know if it worked back then or not. The compatibility feature doesn't really
help me at this point. But recently if i click on a link that someone has
replied to my topic, ie8 loads up but now it shows a blank page, the freezing
is gone though, or hasn't occurred.

Thanks.
