No network icon in taskbar, despite setup
I've set up my local (wired) network several times with the box for showing
local network connection in the taskbar checked, yet it doesn't show up. Why is that? |

No network icon in taskbar, despite setup
How many icons are showing now on your Quick Launch toolbar? If you see a symbol to the right of the last visible icon, there are more icons hidden under your program Toolbar. Is your taskbar locked? Right-click on the taskbar. If there is a checkmark next to "Lock the Taskbar," click it to unlock. Adjust the visible width of your taskbar toolbars by left-clicking and dragging on the border between the Quick Launch Toolbar and the program Toolbar. |

He is not having an icon show up in the notification area of the taskbar, not the quick launch area. Which in the default setup is at the opposite end of the taskbar from the area that you are referring to... -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |

Try this, right click on a blank area of the taskbar and then click on properties. Next click on the customize button in the lower right corner of the window. In the next window look for the network icon and click on the drop-down arrow and choose "always show". Hopefully this will resolve your problem. -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |
