Default Annoying Popup Menu

Since this morning, my wife has been experiencing an annoying problem. The
context sensitive menu usually associated with right click on the mouse keeps
popping up. This happens on the Windows desktop, in Outlook (both folder view
and create mail), and in Excel and Word. I haven't tested Powerpoint, but
assume the same will happen. I have tried with the external mouse attached
and unattached, with the touchpad enabled and disabled and the problem
persists. there have been no updates, patches or hardware changes.

Any ideas?

The Context Menu key on the keyboard, usually three keys to the right of
the Spacebar, might be sticking..

It might be a simple problem like accumulated dirt under keys that causes
them to click. Blow the keyboard with compressed air especially the right
mouse button (the one on the touchpad) and the context Menu key between the
right Ctrl and Windows keys. A good shake with the laptop upside down might
do.
