Net Runtime Optimization CRAP!
Installed a program that also automatically installed
mscorsvw.exe There are four copies of that running causing my mouse cursor to blinity-blink. I tried killing using Process Explorer but that did not work. Found that there was a master with four spawns and killed the master. Spawns would not die. 1) what is it doing? 2) How do I permanently kill that junk! ? i.e. get rid of it? --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

As in cd C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319 ngen.exe executequeueditems You can have several versions of .NET on the computer. In my case, I could find two copies of ngen.exe, and I simply selected the highest version one, and ran that. The idea is, it may speed up the pre-compilation effort for you, so the services can go away. If you can figure out a way (with perhaps sysinternal.com Process Explorer), see if each of the remaining mscorsvw.exe are coming from some other layer of .NET. And if they won't go away, try the above NGEN command from the respective version of folder. I haven't needed to do that, but then, I don't have four services running either :-) Paul |

Net Runtime Optimization CRAP!
Tried that from (exactly as written) a .BAT file.
Looked at folders and that was the highest: v4.0.30319. It ran a whole bunch of Compiled... Then the .BAT closed. BTW I made it ECHO ON to see what I could. We'll see what that does on next boot. Thanks! --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |
